God saves body first, then the soul and then the spirit.

Salvation of spirit first, then the soul and then body is INCORRECT. That is why believer cannot overcome their sins in this life. Their faith is in the lie!

GOD SAVES MAN FIRST IN HIS BODY, THEN THE SOUL AND THEN HIS SPIRIT.

(Download the free study guide “Sons of God sin not” and study it thoroughly.)

The salvation of man takes place in the following order:

First the Body (when the Holy Spirit replaces the spirit of sin in the body), then the soul (by the renewing of the mind of the soul), then the spirit of man (through the change of its nature from ungodly to godly).  The natural body will be changed into a spiritual body when Jesus returns.  It is the adoption as sons by God the Father, because He rewards the worthy believers with the new eternal body of Christ.

The general belief is that man’s spirit is saved first, then his soul and then he has to wait until his natural body is redeemed when Jesus returns.  This pattern of salvation is INCORRECT, because it is the way the fall of man took place.  This belief is probably based on the following scriptures:

(1Th 5:23)  Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; AND may your whole spirit, soul, and body BE PRESERVED blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(Rom 8:23)  Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for THE ADOPTION, the redemption of our body.

 Look at our study guide:

Study chapter 7 in our study guide and see the position and relationship of the three members of man.

In Chapter 1 of the study guide we explain that (Eve — the spirit) disobeyed God first.  Then (Adam — the soul, as the head) disobeyed God and only then sin entered the human body.  In this manner the inner-man (the soul and his spirit) came under the law of sin and death in the body. Herein we see that the FALL took place first in the spirit, then in the soul and then in the body.

In chapter 2 of the study guide we explain how in Jesus Christ the body of Adam (of sin) was destroyed and that a new body without sin (the body of Christ) was created.

(Rom 6:6)  knowing this, that our old man (the natural body) was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we (the inner-men) should no longer be slaves of sin. (This correspond to the slavery of the Jews in Egypt.)

(Rom 6:12)  Therefore do not let (the law of) sin reign in your mortal body, that you (the inner-man) should obey it (sin) in its lusts.

Important to note: It is not the lusts of the natural body but the lusts of sin, that indwells the body.

Sin is an evil natured spirit and when sin indwells the body of flesh and blood, sin is called or referred to as ‘the flesh’.  The body still has its original human nature but the evil nature of sin in the body causes the inner-man over time to become evil ALSO.

(Who do you think causes your child to be disobedient, selfish, lie, dishonest, envious and do all the other works of ‘the flesh’?  It is certainly not the parents.)  The inner-man who is born in ‘the flesh’, is a sinner.

THE DELIVERANCE OF THE BODY AND SANCTIFICATION OF THE INNER-MAN

The fall of man took place in spirit, in soul and in body.  God saves man in the reverse order namely; first the body, then the soul and then the spirit of man.

First the body is saved from sin

The body of man is the house or country in which the inner-man dwells or lives on earth

God cannot save the inner-man unless He first delivers him from the law of sin in his body.  The body must therefore first be delivered from sin that indwells it. Deliverance from sin takes place when God forgives the inner-man his sins and gives him the Holy Spirit.  The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus then REPLACES the law of sin and death in his body.

Take note:  The body is not changed but THE LAW OF SIN (the sinful nature of sin) is removed from the human body

(Rom 8:2)  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me (the inner-man) free from the law of sin and death.

(Col 1:13)  He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

(1Co 6:19)  Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

To be born again the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus must set you free from the law of sin and death.  By SAVING the body from sin first, the inner-man is delivered from his slavery to sin in his body.

The following parable will explains the above:

While the country South Africa (the body) was under the law or constitution of ”apartheid”, the inhabitants (inner-men) became racists.  However in 1994 the law of the land (body) was changed to a non-racial constitution, but the inhabitants remained racists.  Without sanctification of the inhabitants, they will remain racists.

It is the responsibility of every inhabitant (inner-man) to conform and become obedient to the NEW constitution.

Remember: Transgression of the new constitution includes punishment.

No one can argue against the facts that were revealed in the parable.

Unless the soul (mind) of an inhabitant is renewed to the new constitution, the racist nature of his spirit cannot change to be obedient.

Secondly the soul is saved through renewing of his mind

The soul is the head of the inner-man (the ghost).  Because the soul is the head of his spirit, he has to understand the Word, which is the will of God and must not be dominated by the passions, emotions, lust and desires of his own unchanged spirit.  The soul should to be in control of the emotions of his own spirit — that is what self-control actually means.

(Rom 12:2)  ...be transformed (change the nature of your spirit) by the renewing of your mind (soul), that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

(2Co 10:5)  casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every THOUGHT (of the soul/mind) into captivity to the OBEDIENCE (of your own spirit to that) of Christ,

(1Co 2:14 & 16)  But the natural man (NOT BORN AGAIN) receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  For who (OF US) hath known the mind of the Lord, that he (THE LORD) may instruct him (US)? But we have the mind of Christ (SO HE CAN INSTRUCT US).  (KJV)

The Word of God is the voice of God and speaks to the soul (mind) because the soul has the will and intellect.  As the soul learns the ways or will of God through revelation by the Holy Spirit, knowledge of the truth REPLACES the knowledge of good & evil in the mind.

(1Jn 2:20)  But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. KJV

The soul is then saved and have the mind of Christ, but still has NO REST because of the un-submissiveness of his ungodly natured spirit.

Lastly the spirit is saved by changing his ungodly nature to be godly

The ungodly natured spirit could not change while his soul was still in the consciousness of good & evil, because the knowledge of good & evil caused the spirit to be ungodly.  As the soul renews to the truth, the ungodliness of his spirit is transformed through the anointing of the Holy Spirit and then partakes of the divine nature of Christ.  Once the spirit becomes godly it will submit to the soul as its head and the SOUL experiences REST.

(1Jn 2:27)  But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

(1Pe 1:9)  Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

For the soul to rest, his spirit will have to be changed.  The changing of the nature of the spirit from ungodly and dominating nature to a godly and submissive nature only comes through sufferings.  This is the baptism of your spirit by the Holy Spirit.

(Heb 2:10)  For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

ALL born again inner-men have the Spirit of God dwelling in their body, but NOT ALL of born again inner-men have the Spirit of Christ (the divine nature of Christ’s inner-man) because they still continue to commit sins.

Look at the following scripture:

(Rom 8:9)  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ (not Christ-like) , he is none of his.

The body was saved when it receives the indwelling Holy Spirit who replaced sin in the body.  The inner-man is saved when he has the character of Christ’s inner-man.  Then only has the inner-man the Spirit of Christ.

(Rom 8:23)  And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the ADOPTION, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Take note:

The above scripture is NOT the salvation of the body for the body was saved the day you believed and received the Holy Spirit who removed ‘the spirit of sin’ from your body.  The body is only transformed the day when the Father adopts you as a son of God.  It is your reward when He gives you the New glorified spiritual body of Christ as an eternal inheritance.

(1Co 15:52 - 53)  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we (our bodies) shall be changed.  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
